Bio

Sue Bartlett studied for a BA Fine Art at Thames Valley University and graduated in 2005. She now works from her studio in Mortimer, Berkshire.

Of her journey into Art she says…..

“I came from a family of “makers’…my father, grandfather and great grandfather were all master upholsterers – the whole family were artisans of one kind or another from French polishers to dressmakers. I always wanted to carry on the tradition.”

Following on from her degree, she began experimenting with all sorts of materials and pigments until finally settling on the mediums of beeswax and a type of glass resin. From these materials, she began creating the colourful textured paintings of semi-abstract florals and landscapes which have now become synonomous of her style.

‘Making’ still has the capacity to thrill and inspire me – I can’t imagine my life without it – I have loved every moment of my artistic journey.’

Sue’s work constantly gains in popularity and is permanently shown in galleries across the UK. Her work now hangs in private homes in Europe, Japan, USA, Dubai, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong and she is regularly commissioned by private collectors and interior designers.
